Elevator Pitch – Have you ever had someone ask “What do you do?”, and you find yourself mumbling: “I run a web design company” or “I am an attorney”. It is no surprise when your questioner smiles, and walks away. You have just lost the chance to turn this person into a successful, profitable client. You also missed a great, no-cost marketing opportunity. This presentation will help you articulate what you do best, and help you separate prospects from suspects.
Networking - How to ‘work a room’ in such a way that delivers business results. - Networking at an event is a great way of getting your name or service out in front of potential customers. In fact, in the past few years my clients have forged a number of long- term relationships that have led to more sales and sustained growth, by utilizing some of the tips from this presentation.

Eight Key Facts to consider when booking your guest speaker or keynote speaker.
- You must have some idea of which type of presentation and accompanying message that will suit your event or agenda, i.e. a half-day workshop/facilitation session, or just the standard 45 – 60 minute keynote/after dinner presentation, or a business association breakfast meeting with a 20 minute presentation
- Are you looking for an 'educating’ speaker who will not only entertain, but also have relevant content and take home value, a business-to- business speaker, or a celebrity who will share anecdotes and sign autographs?
- Does your venue best support audio-visual presentations? Is the venue well lit, free of background noise, a room where all delegates will have an equally good view of the speaker in the event of a slide presentation?
- Clarify what percentage of your budget has been allocated to cover the cost of the speaker; you are then ensured to receive “value for money” and the best “return on investment”.
- Decide on the message/objective for your event; your guest speaker / keynote speaker must be correctly informed. The speaker will then be able to present with a suitable presentation.
- Word-of-mouth may be another way to have effective speakers referred to your business; however, the credibility of this referral depends on several factors: the source must be knowledgeable in the various types of speakers available in order to make an accurate comparison, as well as understanding what YOUR event is all about.
- Make sure that both parties clearly understand all important information pertaining to the date/time/venue/technical requirements/audience etc., as well as any relevant information about possible conflicts of interest, or sensitive issues that may relate to the audience that the speaker will be addressing.
- Know who will be briefing the speaker, and ensure that there is clarity between all three parties, namely the planner, the speaker, and the CEO; the planning stages and any future expectations for the event must be clarified.
